Mitel SX-2000 Quick-Start Installation & Maintenance Course
This course is suitable for engineers who are new to the SX-2000 and require basic programming skills, but with a more technical bias. It is also ideal for those who have some familiarity with the system, and who now want to enhance their existing knowledge.
The actual topics covered in the course can be modified to suit individual requirements from the Course Content list below. Students should be familiar with using a keyboard, and some knowledge of PBX terminology would also be useful.
On completion of this course the candidate will be able to:
- log on to an SX-2000
- physically provide and program a new analogue or digital extension, including adding the extension user's name to the telephone directory
- make programming changes to the extension features
- program Automatic Route Selection on the SX-2000 and complete a back-up of the database

- tracker Login/Logout - if appropriate to site requirements
- SX-2000 Login/Logout
- identifying Active and Inactive planes
- basic troubleshooting for extensions
- handset wiring on the test jack frame or patch panel
- programming new extensions, analogue and digital
- programming the Telephone Directory form
- using the Changes Attributes form
- programming Class of Service - focussing on system timers and call logging implications
- creating Classes of Restriction
- Automatic Route Selection (ARS) programming for Level '9' dialling
- alternate Route programming
- programming procedure for adding or removing a new circuit card
- performing Datasaves
- hardware replacement procedures
- software reloading/upgrades
Duration: This is a five day course.
